"Journalism," writes Dr. G. Stuart Adam, "is made; it doesn't just happen." To report, of course, is to recreate, not create. The language used to teach and consume journalism, Dr. Adam writes, "must be akin to the language of art.

"The language of art encourages students to enter the imagination of the artist and mediate on how the artist does what he or she does ...."
