Orange Treason
Matt Seinberg

Per 18 US Code 2381 Treason, “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

The tediousness of conspiracy theories.

I am sick and tired of President Orange and his outlandish statements concerning the Ukraine and China, as regards Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. Doesn't Trump know it's illegal to ask another country for help with anything concerning an election? He blatantly asked not one, but two foreign countries to help him in a smear campaign against a 2020 election opponent! If that's not treason, I don't know what might be treason.

Ellen Weintraub, chair of the Federal Election Commission, issued the following statement regarding Ukraine and China. "Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office. It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election. This is not a novel concept. Electoral intervention from foreign governments has been considered unacceptable since the beginnings of our nation. Our Founding Fathers sounded the alarm about "foreign interference, intrigue and influence." They knew that when foreign governments seek to influence American politics, it is always to advance their own interests and not America's. Anyone who solicits or accepts foreign assistance risks being on the wrong end of a federal investigation. Any political campaign that receives an offer of a prohibited donation from a foreign source should report that offer to the Federal Bureau of Investigation."

How much clearer can the law and the act be than that? President Orange tried to hide his involvement with the Ukraine, and then out and out admitted he would ask and accept help from China regarding the Bidens. Forget impeachment, have the FBI arrest him for treason against America, now.

Republicans scramble to survive.

The Republican Party is scrambling, as rats on a sinking ship, to save their own butts. I'm sure its members are ready to vote for impeachment as soon as it gets started. The Democrat controlled House of Representatives will surely pass it and hopefully the Republican controlled Senate will hold a trail and convict. How much longer can we take the rhetoric of Trump? He is slowly, but surely, destroying our country.

Trump claimed his new tax plan would be a boon for the middle class. Well, I certainly haven't seen that boon. Only the rich and corporations have reaped the benefits of the new tax laws; tax cuts always benefit the wealthy, whereas increases in minimum wage help everybody.

It's also incredulous how this president keeps picking the wrong people for his cabinet and advisors. Many now are interim or acting, which means they are unconfirmed by Congress and subject to easy dismissal if Trump decides he doesn’t like them. Talk about an end run around another law.

I think President Orange is trying to distract the country from his real agenda, which is re-election, so he can wreck more havoc on our country before he goes back to his tower in Manhattan and laughs with his rich cronies over everything he did to further their goals and ruin the rest of us.

Would Russia take in Trump?

Let's face it, American has had some bad presidents; Trump is by far the worst. If there is anyone left when the dust settles that still believes that this narcissist, megalomaniac sociopath was a good president, please get your passport and ticket to ride to anywhere. Maybe the Ukraine, China or Russia will take them in.

Somewhat less cynical than dyed in the wool New Yorkers, Seinberg believes those who don't see what he does like reading about what he sees and what it means to him. Seinberg columns revel in the silly little things of life and laughter as well as much well-directed anger at inept, foolish public officials. Mostly, Seinberg writes for those who laugh easily at their own foibles as well as those of others.
